John McCain dies 9 years to the day after Ted Kennedy of the same kind of cancer.

Sen. John McCain, 1936-2018, was Arizona's senator for more than three decades and twice ran for president.

U.S. Sen. John McCain died nine years to the day after his good friend Sen. Ted Kennedy of the same kind of cancer.

McCain, R AZ., died Saturday a little more than a year after he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer that affects roughly 10,000 Americans a year.

Kennedy, D Mass., a close friend of McCain's in the Senate, was diagnosed in May 2008 and died Aug. 25, 2009.

"History does rhyme," Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney from the Southern District of New York, said in a tweet.

It's hard to feel anything but overpowering sadness about John McCain. Last time I felt this way was 9 years ago to the day when his friend across the aisle, Ted Kennedy, succumbed to the same cruel cancer. History does rhyme. There will never be another like John McCain. RIP.

McCain has requested former rivals Barack Obama and George HW Bush to delivery eulogies. McCain will be buried at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Joe Biden will also speak at a function in Arizona.

John McCain and Dianne Feinstein are two of the most powerful senators to have helped impose a Chemical Assault Scorched Earth over the United States and world. One of McCain's legacy is the Salt River Project which supplies water in Arizona. This is Censorship and Sanitization. The Colorado River became despoiled in 2007 under George HW Bush. Barack Obama won the Presidency twice in 2008 and 2012 while the Salton Sea in California, which can only evaporate upwards was despoiled.
